The City of Greensboro has a lively arts scene and there are many things to do and check out that will inspire one and broaden cultural horizons. The United Arts Council of Greensboro is in part responsible for making Greensboro such a welcoming and inspiring place for artists and performers alike. Featuring activities like the annual City Stage Celebration, the African American Arts Festival, and Plazzaz! Summer lunch time concerts, the United Arts Council of Greensboro does an exceptional job of helping Greensboro maintain its wonderful artistic atmosphere.

One can enjoy taking in a performance of the Greensboro Ballet, the Greensboro Opera Company, and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra all in one great city! Also, the Eastern Music Festival, which takes place in the summer months on the Guilford College campus brings many acts throughout the season that feature chamber music and symphonic works that entertain large crowds each year.

Theatre shows and the performing arts are also quite popular in Greensboro and there are numerous community theatres and performers that perform shows daily and every weekend. The Community Theater of Greensboro has been entertaining people for over 45 years and is a popular venue to enjoy a variety of different kinds of acts and plays.

For those that enjoy the visual arts there are several great art galleries in the city of Greensboro, many of them housed on the campuses of the various outstanding educational institutions in the area. The Greensboro Cultural Center at Festival Park is a gigantic showplace featuring works from over 25 visual arts organizations and galleries across the city and simply a must see for anyone that likes to browse art exhibits. City Arts of the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department also produces a variety of musicals and theatrical productions year round and especially in the summer when they host their OPUS concert series.
