Greensboro NC and the surrounding
Triad region of North Carolina.
If you are relocating to Greensboro NC, CENTURY
21 Elliott Properties will be happy to help you

needs. We know the Greensboro area very well and can advise you accordingly. Here we have provided a bit of information on the employment outlook and top employers in the county.
Historically, jobs in the Triad Region and the city of Greensboro were primarily agricultural industry jobs or manufacturing/textile type jobs. Much like other areas in the state when many of the companies providing jobs in these types of industry moved oversees many in the region were left unemployed. However, much unlike many of the other regions in the state that were hit hard by the manufacturing downturn, the city of Greensboro continued to prosper and they pride themselves on thriving and
adaptability. Diversification of jobs and industry has been key for the city and many in Greensboro have been introduced to other industries and types of employment.
Today, Greensboro is a massive insurance center as United Guaranty Corporation is headquartered here. Other companies and corporations like Gilbarco, a maker of service station equipment, are also headquartered in Greensboro. Analog Devices, AMP Inc, and RF Micro Devices, all electronic device firms, have plants in the city of Greensboro and employ several residents. Larger corporate ventures, like the Honda Aircraft Company and the Lorillard Tobacco Company call Greensboro NC home as well; all offering many jobs to the area. Also, the popular cold medicine company Vicks, with their popular VapoRub and Vicks Formula, began in Greensboro more than 75 years ago. They are still created here, even though the company was bought out by the larger Procter & Gamble.
International companies also have plants and quarters in Greensboro. Companies like Fuji Foods of Japan, Sweden’s Volvo Truck Corp and Japan’s Konica Manufacturing USA also call Greensboro home and employ
many residents from the city.
Currently the largest employers of those living in the region are the
Guilford County Public School System and the
Moses H. Cone Health system and its many affiliates. American Express also
offers several thousand jobs to employees in Greensboro.
