The downtown region of Greensboro NC is home to the courthouse and many established law offices and legal practices. In addition to being the center of the judicial center for the county and region, this area is also home to the newly created, Elon School of Law. The Elon School of Law enjoys, of course, a separate campus, apart from the greater, Elon University campus which is located in Elon, North Carolina. Established in 2006, the Elon School of Law is one of the four graduate programs that are available at Elon University and has been nationally recognized already as an outstanding institution that promotes leadership and justice.
 Students enrolled in the Elon School of Law can choose from law concentrations in business, litigation, public interest and general practice and Elon is one of the few law schools in the country that has an actual operating court as one of their classrooms. Designated as The North Carolina Business Court, this courtroom deals with complex business litigations and gives students a true
hands-on learning experience. The School of Law is also helping to
advance technology and bridge different fields together. Working directly with the American Judicature Society Institute of Forensic Science & Public Policy, the School of Law is helping to promote
uniting the fields of research, law and science together.
